Meet the next-gen Aion, True Motions plushest and most cushioned road running shoe. Version 2 sees subtle tweaks instead of a complete overhaul, a new engineered, 3-layer woven Jacquard mesh upper and an extra 2mm of U-Tech cushioning are the 2 big changes. After all, why change something that’s already great?
Best use: The Aion is built with the goal of comfort, mile after mile, and wow does it do that! With heaps of U-Tech cushioning and a spacious fit, it’s the kind of shoe you could wear all day and not even notice. This update even sees it lose 20 grams.
Upper: Using a new 3-layer woven Jacquard mesh for an improved fit while allowing your feet to breathe in hotter climates. The plastic cage sitting around the heel helps to both keep you secure and centralize your heel in the horseshoe. Reflective logos on the shoe help to brighten even your darkest runs up.
Midsole: Just like all True Motion shoes the Aion employs the same U-Tech cushioning and horseshoe-shaped heel. Acting as the cushioning system, as well as supporting and centralising your foot through the landing phase. It even adds an extra pep in your step as you toe off and get pinged forward.
Outsole: Sustainable reground rubber is used across the sole of the shoe for both durability and traction. Flex grooves in the outsole help to keep the shoe feeling as natural as possible.
True Motion says “Our new U-TECH Aion next-gen is like heaven on earth – and at the same time, as a further development of our award-winning U-TECH™ Aion, our most innovative running shoe to date. But instead of turning everything inside out, we followed the motto “evolution instead of revolution” for the U-TECH™ Aion next gen. This resulted in meaningful improvements that once again elevate running comfort and our unique biomechanical function to a new level. The generous fit and our unique U-TECH™ foam will make you float. All of this results in significantly less muscle fatigue, an even greater cushioning feel and increased stability. You can’t get more U-TECH™ than that. Experience it for yourself.”
