An update to Scotts iconic mountain racing shoe, the Supertrac RC2. Now with a resigned upper using Schoeller Coldback fabric and with spaced out lugs for better traction in the wet the Supertrac just got even better.
Best use: The Supertrac RC 2 is Scotts out and out mountain racing shoe. A new upper material and outsole pattern shave a little more weight off to keep them feeling a light, nimble and responsive as possible.
Upper: A complete redesign took place on the upper. Now use a Schoeller coldblack® material which both temperature regulates a lot better while also having some water-resistant quality to keep your feet dryer and the weight of the shoe down when running through mud and water.
Midsole: The cushioning on the Supertrac RC 2 doesn’t see any change from its previous version. Still using Scott AeroFoam+ midsole and eRIDE to help roll you forward with every stride. It’s light, responsive and cushioned, everything you want from mountain racing shoe.
Outsole: You will still find 6mm deep lugs on the RC 2 however, they have been spaced further apart. This is to increase the traction gained from each lug and also reduce the chance of getting mud stuck between them. They are still in the radial pattern Scott are famous for with heel and toe pointing in different directions to give you traction no matter where you are on the mountain.
Scott says “The SCOTT Supertrac RC 2 is the update of our iconic skyrunning shoe and has become the go-to shoe for our athletes looking to take on high alpine technical races. We updated our award-winning Radial Traction outsole for improved traction and durability. The refined upper includes an innovative Schoeller coldblack® and 3XDRY® material, which provides unparalleled levels of protection and comfort.”
Team Accelerate Athlete Harvey says “I was very worried when I heard they were updating the Supertrac, it has been my go-to shoe for anything from rolling single track to muddy fell. However, as soon as I tried the 2 I knew there was no need to worry, Scott only went and made an amazing shoe even better!”
