The Saucony Peregrine is an iconic sight in the trail running world. This incredibly versatile shoe is used and loved by many runners. Version 12 see’s some pretty major updates to keep it at the forefront of the trail running market but without sacrificing what you know and love.
Best use: The Peregrine is Saucony ultimate do it all trail shoes, and version 12 does not disappoint. Having received a rather large facelift while retaining the same Peregrinesk feel. Starting with the whopping 75-gram weight saving, even deeper lugs for better grip and finally, a new upper that even uses recycled materials. what a winner.
Upper: The new mesh upper is stripped back, lighter and more minimal than before. The combinations of the gusseted tongue that moulds to your foot and pliable overlays keep your feet snug and secure in the shoe without feeling restricted. An increased length synthetic rand runs round the outside of the shoe to improve durability on high wear areas. Finally, a new PWRRUN+ insole gives you an extra level of comfort when slipping the shoe on.
Midsole: The cushioning on the Peregrine 12 hasn’t seen much change. Still using a full PWRRUN midsole for the blend of comfort and responsiveness to keep the miles flying by with ease. A new rock plate sits between you and the trail for an extra layer of protection from rocks and other debris. Designed to be more flexible than before and shed moisture to keep them as light as possible even in the worth of weather.
Outsole: A new outsole pattern and deeper 5mm PWRTRAC lugs offer increased grip and traction while the more spaced out design reduces the amount of mud they can collect to keep you skipping over the ground.
The Peregrine 12 from Saucony is now vegan and uses recycled materials throughout.
