The Canal Canter - five miles of flat racing from Victoria Quays in Sheffield city centre.
New for 2019 you can enter each individual race or complete 3 out of the 4 events to be eligible for the Canal Canter league.
Starting and finishing at Victoria Quays, the route heads out along the Tinsley canal towpath. You leave the trail at the entrance to the Olympic Legacy Park running a loop that also takes in the Don Valley Bowl. You'll pass the old Olympic flame from the student games and have the chance to sprint the new marked 100-metre track.
Then it's back over the old bridge and a return to Victoria Quays for the finish.
Run each race individually, or run three out of the four events held this year to be entered into the league and be in with the chance of a prize! Keep the same race number for the season and enter each race to be part of the league results.
How to take part in the league:
- Enter at least three of the four races in 2019
- Turn up and run your heart out!
- Your three best times will be added together to give a cumulative figure
- The runners with the lowest cumulative times will be in for a running prize related treat!
Please remember to select the quantity from the box below, according to the number of races you wish to complete - thanks.
Entry to each race is £10. A donation from each will be given back to the Canal Trust ensuring the upkeep of the canal.
