The Altra Lone Peak 7 is coming into the season with a fresh new look. Altra have stripped back the shoes with a new seamless upper, the same cushioned and responsive midsole and a new outsole pattern for improved traction on the trails.
Best use: Initially designed for the Wasatch 100 mile race in the US they can go a long way or for jumping on your local trails, they are right at home.
Upper: Receiving a big update from previous models, version 7 uses a seamless breathable mesh that feels light and streamlined. Altra has increased the padding through the heel for a plush feel and secure fit and lockdown.
Midsole: Using the same Ego midsole found in version 6. We find it a perfect blend of cushioning to responsiveness. A stone guard sitting through the midsole adds an extra layer of protection.
Outsole: Using Altra’s MAXTRAC rubber and a new outsole pattern with more lugs for better grip and traction.
Altra says “The next evolution for the Altra Lone Peak is here for all trail running enthusiasts. One of the best-selling trail shoes is now sporting a seamless, stitchless upper that feels incredibly lightweight yet durable. This new construction helps you stay agile and confident on varying terrain while the Original FootShape™ Fit forms to your foot. The MaxTrac™ outsole has also been updated to add stickiness and grip to each step to increase traction on the trail. Also underfoot, the classic Altra EGO™ midsole foam balances the feeling of responsiveness and comfort for an enjoyable ride.”
