Help And Advice
Can you help me run?
If you’re new to running, we have lots of tips, along with experience in how to avoid taking on too much too soon. All runners are different, so we assess everybody individually, and offer opinions rather than telling you what to do.
Do you have running experience?
The staff team at Accelerate share a passion for running, and between us have years of experience in running at all levels. We regularly run on and off road, from 10k to Ultra Distance Endurance and Adventure Racing. See ‘about us’.
Do you help new runners get started?
Absolutely. We love to hear from anyone getting started, and can offer friendly advice, tips and encouragement. We’ve all been there!
Do I need to book an appointment before buying shoes?
It’s up to you, we are now accepting drop ins, however, if you would prefer a 1-2-1 fitting with one of our excellent staff follow the link here
Do you offer discount to running clubs?
In a word no. All who visit us receive the same high level of customer service. This means that regardless of whether you’ve run for years or are just getting started you’ll get the appropriate advice, assessment and training tips whether you’re part of a club or not. We treat everybody the same, so we charge the same.
Do you sell Off-Road shoes?
We have a wide range of shoes for running off-road, whether your preference is trails and paths, cross-country or fell running.
Should I bring anything with me?
It isn’t essential, but if you’ve chance to plan ahead we suggest bringing something like shorts or leggings, whatever’s comfy to run in, that allows us to see your feet/ankles while you’re on the move. Socks that you’d normally run in will help you get the exact fit you’re after. We have changing rooms for anyone bringing a change of clothes with them.
When are you open?
Accelerate is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10am – 5pm. Wednesday: 10am – 7pm. Sunday: Closed (gone running).
