Once again we are teaming up with the Olympic Legacy Park to bring in another new led running group. This time it’s for the over fifties looking to improve their running for health and enjoyment.
It could be that you haven’t run for ages and you’re looking to start again… perhaps you are already on the move, yet would like to tackle a Park Run… maybe your ambition is to go a little further…
Whether you consider yourself a beginner or someone with a little more experience, this group could be just the tonic.
Sessions will be graded to fitness and age-ability with an ‘Intro’, ‘Getting It’ and a ‘Got It’ group. It could be that we start with a run-walk, or as you progress – longer runs with similarly paced companions.
The run sessions will be led by qualified run leaders and coaches, Sarah Crossland and Stuart Hale. Along with the session they will also be helping you to think about the rest of your training week, running more safely, assisting with running technique and running stability – in order to help avoid injury. They’ll keep you moving comfortably.
Don’t be put off by the area, as we will be heading over to the purpose built running venue within the traffic free Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) – on the site of the old Don Valley Stadium.
Post run it’ll be back to the store for a coffee and a natter, with homemade cake an option that is more than welcome and a tradition of many of the other running groups led by our leaders and coaches.
Changing, toilets and safe bag storage are all available at the store.
To find out how to get to the store hereThe store is a short walk down the hill on Shirtland Lane from the Attercliffe Tram Stop, Yellow Route service.
