A late summer holiday and trip to Lanzarote for Team Accelerate Runner, Izzy-Mai. This involved a week of warm weather training and family fun that took in a run up the local Volcano. Izzy-Mai recounts a morning of running fun on the Lava strewn volcano. “It all began while laying around the pool in Lanzarote, glancing across the volcanic landscape. I began a conversation with my mum and dad about the volcanoes and how I was eager and excited to explore them. After a little research, I realised that I could experience what it felt like to run on … Continue reading

Worldwide Virtual 10K Masters Challenge Championship. The running year started promisingly enough for me with a chilly England qualifying half marathon in Helsby, Chester in January. Being freezing cold I nipped round in 1:43:39 so I could get back to my big coat as soon as my legs would carry me, 1st F65 and qualifier for England International in Fleet in March. Storm Dennis put paid to my February BMAF 10K Championship in Poole. Then, in March, came the Covid-19 lockdown. The England representation half marathon in Fleet was canceled and so, month on month was every other … Continue reading
I’m writing this after a tough, dark and windy solo session. Just a getting it done session. It’s the first proper session I have done since we have gone back into lockdown. This has got me thinking about how much value a team brings. If you have always been solo or always been part of a team, you may not be fully aware of how valuable it is. However, having been a member of (in my opinion) one of the best training groups out there to then having to go back to training solo is very weird. The Team Momentum: … Continue reading

My current favorites are the Supertrac RC Ultra, which has basically been my go-to shoes for everything (except rare tarmac outings) for the last couple of years. The latest release from Scott is the Kinabalu Ultra RC. These came out in June and lots of excited people have talked about how good they are in summer, but what about now we’re … Continue reading
