A couple of thoughts about function and injury

Posted on by Guest Blogger

So I read a couple of blogs last week, one really inspirational and one that I found a bit annoying. That is what blogging is all about I suppose. The first one (inspirational) was by @challengesophie and about how hard it is sometimes to get going in the New Year. Loads of pressure to set up and plan new challenges, build on last year, do better, go faster, run longer, etc, etc and sometimes it is just difficult to get going / where to start? The advice (or discussion) from Sophie was summed up with ‘baby steps’ and do not … Continue reading

The 40 Year old Bleaklow virgin

Posted on by Guest Blogger

Hey, It’s a month since my last blog and in that time I’ve turned 40 years of age.  I don’t feel it, but it’s there.  Next time I fill in a race registration form it’ll be the next box along that I tick.  The one that says ‘Vet’.  Great. Some people are much more sensitive to caffeine than others and if you don’t currently drink coffee, I would recommend … Continue reading

What an amazing Christmas, Lots of laughs, family time, and good food. After a busy few months in Dublin, I’ve been back in Sheffield for two weeks. Sheff will always be home for me and the Peak District my back garden. Most certainly a key factor in the development of my overly large quads (doesn’t fully explain the chicken ankles though!) Although I focus on racing, 99.9% of my time is spent training. The hours out on the road and trails is where the races are won and lost. Simple as that. I love training in beautiful places, and Sheffield … Continue reading
