Biography:
Running, running, RUNNING! I started running in summer 2014, and fell in love with it during a family holiday to Rydal in the Lake District where I had my first taste of off-road running on the trails around Rydal Water and Grasmere. I’ve been hooked ever since and am now a proud member of Team Accelerate Inov-8 and my club Vegan Runners UK.
I started out racing cross country for Hallam Athletics, my uni club, before being introduced to fell races in the Peak District in spring/summer 2015. I then moved to the Lake District for my uni placement year in 2015/16, joining my local club Helm Hill Runners and immersing myself in the Lakes fell running world. Since coming back to Sheffield I’ve been focusing on the fells and getting faster on the roads.
I began working with Stu Hale and the Accelerate community in spring 2017 and with their guidance have taken my running to the next level. I love to train hard and get out running no matter what the weather!
My current PB’s are 16:16 for 5k (2018), 34:00 for 10k (2018) and 01:19:27 for half-marathon (2015). My fondest running memory and probably best race to date was the Hope Winter Fell Race in 2018, where I managed to by just 2 seconds after a battle all the way to the line.
I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the wonderful Accelerate community and receive support from Inov-8. I’m moving to Edinburgh in 2019 but will still be continuing to work with the Accelerate community, and am excited to dive into all things hill running in Scotland!
