So proud to run for the team. I was a bit of a late starter to running and have the Cancer Research events to thank for it. I ran a 10k in October 2009 and quite enjoyed it, followed by a 10k in Feb 2010.
I surprised myself how much I enjoyed it and won an age category trophy! My love for running continued and I competed in many more 10k, 5mile and half marathon
road events before braving my first of 4 marathons. The more I run the more I love it. Being a coached athlete and practicing heart rate training has revolutionised my training.
I've picked up 5 and 6 minute pbs with the benefit of feeling fresher at finish. I picked up an injury last year, which prevented me racing. What this gave me was the
opportunity to regroup, focus on my strength and come back as a better, stronger athlete. This year I'm 40 and have a few big goals.
I'm focusing on trail and building to snowdon Marathon in July and an ultra in the Autumn. I'm excited at what lies ahead.
